Danny Torres Continuum Motion Pictures - A Response

Danny Torres Continuum Motion Pictures

In 2004 a small company in the San Francisco Bay area began pre-production on a an indiefilm called Wrestling Days. It was the project in which many of the future partners of Continuum Pictures would first meet each other. Danny was twenty at the time and attending Berkeley at the time.

He had initially been invited by fellow student to participate as an extra in the movie. He attended their weekly wrestling trainings and slowly became involved. When production began he was working behind the camera as a PA assisting the writer/director Dan Albracht.

The Producer for the project James Duval noticed his efforts and suggested to the team that he should be given the title that went with the level of work he was doing. Shortly there after he was promoted to producer in charge, and thus took over the duties of the project.

In early 2005 the project wrapped to an amazing low micro budget and impressed not only the Company that had initiated the project, but  all those who have seen it. It is an amazing production job, with high school wrestling tournaments, costuming, large cast and a list of locations that are impossible to obtain.

It was then decided by the partnership that was IIE at the time, that they had found what they had been looking for, a young writer/director/producer who had vision beyond independent film.  By mid-2005 Danny was placed at the head of the company, and a team that had worked for nearly 11 years together.

In October 2005 after a series of meetings with the partnership of IIE, Danny made the decision that growth of our company was not truly possible in the Bay Area. Continuum Pictures was formed with Danny Torres at its help and a decision to move the entire company to Los Angeles at the first of the year in 2006.

What made Danny unique to other filmmakers the team had worked with, was Danny’s ability to put aside his own aspirations as a filmmaker and help others. He has helped filmmakers make their first movies, assisted in post production on films that are stuck, rescued projects that have failed.

As with any endeavor that you take seriously in life, along the way you meet people you want to work with, who suddenly turn into different people. We at Continuum Pictures have had this happen along the way. This happens especially in this day of internet, where so many people can post anything they want without apparent risk of consequences. This has happened to Danny Torres and the Continuum Pictures team. There are those who would begin their attack on a young filmmaker simply because he has told them no, or stepped away, when the person becomes abusive. This is what happens. Unfortunately along with the privilege of free speech, comes those who would abuse it. One person pretending to be many has done so. We do know who he is. It makes us sad.

Danny has done no harm to anyone. He is a filmmaker who has struggled to make his movies and to make others. His track record is impeccable, having taken a small company in Oakland, California, to the Paramount Studios, lot and then even further with building the relationships that have taken Continuum Motion Pictures to the lead in independent film distribution. In 2013 Mano a Mano the Danny Torres directed feature begins its journey through festivals. It has already been chosen to be the only features screened at an up coming festival in August.

Additionally the Danny Torres written/produced feature Cider Springs Slaughter is already slated to begin is theatrical run in the fall/winter 2013.

Continuum Motion Pictures and its friends are proud of working with Danny Torres and can make a bold statement about any and all things written about him by this one individual. He has harmed no one, makes movies, is socially responsible and has made the creative efforts and rights of women around the world his priority.

Continuum Pictures does not respond within the links of the Rip Off Report as it is simply and organization that allows anyone to post anything they want without repudiations or responsibility. Responding simply feeds what we feel is a mafia like financial grab, as they also advertise on their site “partner companies" that will fix your reputation.

It has been the policy of Danny Torres and Continuum Motion Pictures to not respond to anything written in these reports. Such responses are not actually necessary in the adult world. It is our belief that the our work, our history, our distribution platforms and the many films we have done and and are distributing answer every necessary question. We have found that those who have chosen not to work with us because of these writings, nearly always return.

Continuum Motion Pictures is proud of its name, its history and what it is doing. We are especially proud to work with Danny Torres.

Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself...

Hi there! My name is Steve Sievers, now working and part of the Continuum Motion Picture Family. I'm the co-creator of the award winning animated webseries Supa Pirate Booty Hunt, which will be turned into a independent feature film for Continuum. The series follows the adventures of Cpt Zack Stevers and Daniel the Turtle (I do the voice of this little guy) as they search the seven seas for what-else...BOOTY! Its been a fun journey so far with the webseries. People have laughed at the pirates failed picked up lines and turtle's innocence view on life. We have a loyal fan base from around world. Even have a fan in Maryland got the pirate & turtle tattooed on her leg, so we must be doing something right.

I call myself a "dork rocker" because I love music, comics, animation, etc so much. To be able to have Supa Pirate Booty Hunt work with the charity Music Saves Lives is a dream come true. They encourage teenagers/young adults around the country to donate blood through the power of music. So far they have collected over 6 million units of blood. They reward each blood donors with free music tracks, tickets, and chance to meet their favorite artist. We are now producing animated PSA for the charity, that teams Cpt Zack Stevers & Daniel the Turtle up with different music celebrities. Our first episode "Nurse Boobies Please" featured Vans Warped Tour main stage artist 3OH!3 and took home six awards at the Burbank Film Festival. The episode was even turned into a free comic book that was given out at every 2011 Vans Warped Tour date through out North America. I was lucky enough to do comic book signings at six dates of the tour that summer, which was a dream come true. Our next episode featured metal guitar god Dave Mustaine of the band Megadeth with the episode "Metal in My Shell." The episode premiered at our San Diego Comic Con after party and was an official selection at iTV Festival & New Media Film Festival. Its pretty crazy to think if I went back in time and told my high school self that I would be animated Dave Mustaine when I was attending Megadeth concerts, I would of slapped myself silly and say "don't tease me like that!" I always wanted to entertain people with my animation, but to be able to see it encourage people to donate blood is a great feeling. Each donation can save up to three lives! Feels great to give back.

I grew up loving pirates! My fourth grade birthday party, my parents hide all my presents and I had to use a treasure map to find them through out the house/yard. As I got older, I became a history nut and learned that pirates...were not really good people. They were the rockstars of the time, sailed from island to the next, taking treasure, sleeping with women (many of them had STDs), and getting drunk off rum. Most pirates were caught by the British or Spanish because they were hung over from drinking to much rum the night before. To me, its weird that there have been so many kid version of pirates but not many adult versions. Turtles are my favorite animal. I had a turtle farm growing up with at one point 15 turtles in it. I currently have a pond with 5 turtles. I thought, why not have a story where a rockstar pirate teams up with a turtle. Supa Pirate Booty Hunt originally started as a skit on my internet college radio show at American University in Washington, DC back in 2004. It was later turned into my thesis project at grad school.

All the web episodes have been great. However as a story teller, I've always felt a little empty. With the web, our episodes are usually a minute to four minutes long. Enough time to set up a gag and make people laugh, but not long enough for a story arch. When I first created Supa Pirate Booty Hunt, I always envisioned it as a super hero story aka "the hero's journey." Zack has a good heart and wants to be a superhero but his Kryptonite is...he is a pirate! Pirates love to go after booty, both ladies & treasures. His turtle sidekick, is his mentor/moral compass (aka Jimmy the Cricket) and tries to keep on the right path. So far in the web episodes, you haven't really seen any of this.

Like I said, Supa Pirate Booty Hunt will be turned into a independent feature film with Continuum Motion Pictures. Its so cool, because we now get to see the complex story arch in Cpt Zack Stevers. Find out how he meets and teams up with Daniel the Turtle. We finally get to see Pirates Versus Ninjas!!! If you click on the YouTube video at the top, its Supa Pirate Booty Hunt theme song animation. This has been the only place we have seen the evil Ninjas so far. We are developing the script now for the feature film and let me tell you, there are some crazy stuff that is gonna be in it. As a story teller, this is all I have wanted to do. So I am so excited to be doing this film. Stay tune for more details about the projects.

Feel free to see our web episodes at www.SupaPirateBootyHunt.com

Harvest Moon directed by Brent Nowak

Harvest Moon

I think many of us have spent some time on the farm or out in the wilderness, or just maybe stuck at an aunts house. I know there are many moments like this in my childhood. They are moments when you not only fear something in the shadows, but you actually even hope. It would give our suffering some purpose.

Harvest Moon, directed wonderfully by Brent Nowak is one of those films. You think you know someone then they drag your ass to the farm. You think your there for one purpose only to find that your "friend" has other intentions. Well in this case the friend, has just inherited his families orchard, and there are traditions to live by. His family has been producing the best apples in the world, everyone in the region knows this, they just don't know how.

Brent guides through the process of making his apples grow. In the tradition of the best teen slasher pics  the characters are definitely unaware of what is about to happen.  Brent has successfully accomplish the task of keeping the audience engaged.

Harvest Moon will be available on MCTV on Dish Network in January 2013. It will also be streaming on the MCTV APP (Matriarch TV) and on IPTV starting in January. I know that I have enjoyed watching it. It is now currently available on (FilmOn 2013 and will be available on eOne platforms in 2015)

Available on VOD from FilmOn
